James F. Beré Jr. | Chairman & Chief Executive Officer | LinkedIn
Our fearless leader, Jim has been with Alta Resources from the beginning, having strategically built the company brick by brick. It all started with this Chicago native's bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Illinois, followed by a career in finance and marketing at Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
In 1982, Jim cofounded Ameritel Corporation before it was acquired by Convergys in 1990. Five years later, his entrepreneurial spirit carried over to the cofounding of Alta Resources. No longer just a vision but now a success-driven organization, Alta Resources, like Jim's first company, was quickly named to Inc. 500's list of "Fastest-Growing Companies in the U.S." Jim's 30-plus years of management, CPG and contact-center experience culminated in him being named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2004) for his work with Wisconsin-based business and technology. In 2014, he was named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Outside of Alta Resources, Jim applies to philanthropy his inner passion and our Guiding Principle of Community. His community efforts include serving on the United Way Fox Cities Leadership Giving Committee. Also, for many years, he was involved with World Vision, having served on World Vision International’s board of directors and having been chairman of the board of directors for World Vision USA; World Vision is a nonprofit, humanitarian organization dedicated to providing community-based relief and development programs globally. As former chairman of World Vision USA, as well as previous board member and Finance Committee chairman for World Vision International, Jim has traveled the world to study the impact of and possible solutions for neglect and poverty.
Today, Jim lives in Neenah, Wisconsin, with his wife, Sue. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his three children and two grandchildren.
Patrick Hawley | Chief Financial Officer
Possessing a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin -- Eau Claire, as well as Master of Science (financial management) and Business Administration degrees from the University of Wisconsin -- Madison, Pat has excelled through 20-plus years in finance and accounting.
Following a 14-year career as chief financial officer at ThedaCare, which is a leading health care system in Northeast Wisconsin, Pat joined Alta Resources in 2007. In his current role, he oversees finance; accounting; physical and network security; facilities management and procurement; and quality assurance, including Six Sigma and workforce management.
A strong community advocate, Pat frees his mind from crunching numbers by exercising and enjoying family time.
Matt Nelson | Chief Information Officer | LinkedIn
Born and raised in Central Wisconsin, Matt Nelson is our resident outdoorsman. In his free time, he enjoys waterskiing, biking, running, fishing and hunting (also reading, probably outside).
Matt’s active disposition aligns perfectly with his daily responsibilities as CIO, for he actively oversees Alta Resources' global IT operations, infrastructure and future-growth strategy. Versed in technology, operations and strategy execution, Matt has an extensive background in information systems — more than 13 years — and plays a major role in driving our technology and information initiatives.
In his eight-year tenure at Alta Resources, Matt has held various roles, including project manager, director of information technology and operations manager. Most recently, he spent three and a half years as the director of information technology infrastructure, giving him responsibility of, among others, a global team of engineers; technical strategy for computing infrastructure; and overall operations of secure computing resources, including network, servers and application-platform software. Prior to Alta Resources, Matt held information/technical roles at Miles Kimball Company and Thrivent Financial between 2001 and 2006.
Matt received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management information systems (MIS) from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. He is a current member of the Association for Information Technology Professionals and Help Desk Institute. In addition, Matt is a frequent speaker for University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s MIS Capstone class and, similarly, has represented Alta Resources by speaking at technical conferences and tradeshows. Matt lives in De Pere with his wife Kim and daughters Ashlee (9) and Alexis (6).
Patrick Nicholson | Vice President, Business Development | LinkedIn
Pat, more commonly known around these halls as "Nic," has a bachelor's degree in marketing and personnel management from the University of Wisconsin -- Madison. He also has extensive experience in business development and sales-team leadership, as evidenced by his tenure at Whitehall-Robins (now Pfizer); there, he was part of field sales responsible for calling on key accounts' wholesalers and distributors.
In 1995, Pat joined Alta Resources as a program director for one of our sales teams. Today, he is an integral part of our growth strategy by developing relationships with prospects, maintaining a network of key business partners and leveraging our solutions to solve critical business challenges for Fortune 500 companies. Through his procurement efforts and knowledge of technology and processes, he has been closely involved with all our clients and verticals, as well as the solutions we use to serve them.
Pat balances his work with his family life and hobbies, such as running and sports fandom. An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin -- Madison, he bleeds Badger red and white, cheering his team onto football and basketball success. In the summer months, he follows baseball like a hawk, even serving on the NCAA Baseball Division III Championship Host Committee in the Fox Cities as well as occasionally hosting out-of-town minor leaguers on behalf of our Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
Dnyanesh Patkar | Vice President, Entertainment & E-commerce | LinkedIn
Dnyanesh Patkar possesses more than 20 years of leadership experience in global consulting, technology, product development, acquisitions, financial services, and marketing and corporate strategies. At Alta Resources, he applies that experience to oversee, innovate and develop multichannel-commerce solutions, including digital marketing and e-stores, for our entertainment and e-commerce clients. Through the multichannel approach — a result of our integrated service lines — clients can consolidate their vendors to save costs; to make the customer experience more streamlined and efficient; and to better manage the customer lifecycle: acquisition, conversion and retention. Dnyanesh also oversees our fulfillment and back-office service lines.
Before joining Alta Resources in 2012, Dnyanesh was senior systems engineer at National Semiconductor, where he oversaw product management and technical marketing. He then served DiamondCluster International as senior manager, followed by principal for Infosys. When he joined multibillion-dollar transportation- and logistics-solutions company Schneider National, Inc. as director of technology strategy, he quickly emerged as a leader by being named director of corporate development; vice president of corporate development; and vice president of corporate development, architecture and analytics.
A Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders honoree in 2012, Dnyanesh has three degrees: a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston, a master's degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA in finance and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. When time allows, Dnyanesh can be found golfing, traveling, or training for an upcoming marathon or triathlon.
Kim Peterson | Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer | LinkedIn
Kim Peterson offers a world of marketplace expertise, thanks to her 25 years in planning, marketing and corporate leadership. With tremendous business acumen, she has also demonstrated a deep knowledge of marketing-strategy development and execution for clients across a variety of verticals, including including entertainment, health care and insurance, and consumer-packaged goods.
In her early career, Kim was assistant vice president of product marketing for Associated Bank, followed by 10 years as regional director of marketing at Ministry Health Care. Following three years as vice president of marketing at Alta Resources, she served as chief market-development officer at Bellin Health, before joining Alta Resources again in 2008 as vice president of marketing (in 2013, she was named chief marketing and strategy officer). In her current role, Kim is tasked with leading Alta Resources' growth strategy, corporate marketing, and business development among existing and prospective clients.
Kim holds a bachelor's degree in business administration (marketing emphasis) from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin -- Madison. When time allows, Kim's interests are golfing with her husband; journaling; and reading, often on her Kindle.
David Quandt | Senior Vice President, Health Care & Insurance
Applying his Bachelor of Business Administration degree and an MBA in finance, both from the University of Wisconsin -- Oshkosh, Dave has amassed more than 25 years of experience in business-process outsourcing and the contact-center industry. In fact, along with Jim Beré, he is one of our founding fathers, having been with Alta Resources since its inception in 1995. Over the years, Dave has been a jack of all trades, serving as chief financial officer, vice president of human resources, senior vice president of our California facility and senior vice president of care.
In 2013, Dave was selected to lead our vertical of health care and insurance, an evolving, dynamic industry. In that role, Dave develops and implements customer-engaging, metrics-driven programs for world-leading brands looking to improve insurance-plan enrollment (tiered support) and patient compliance with preventive screenings. He played a pivotal role in the development of our proprietary Alta Axis™ lead-management system for health-insurance clients. Dave’s immense knowledge of our organization and the marketplace has positioned him as a catalyst for continuous improvements, as he has conducted a Six Sigma-certified Green Belt project and other enhancements to our quality, processes and technology.

If Dave could be gifted with any super power, he'd want to pick up a book and immediately possess an understanding of its contents. That wish is representative of his constant pursuit of knowledge and success, as he has demonstrated time and again at Alta Resources. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (1998), Dave Richter secured a position as sales representative (1998–1999) at Alta Resources. Over the next 15-plus years, he immersed himself in our culture and success, even completing a Six Sigma Green Belt project.
Our organic success story, Dave was eventually named managing director of customer care (1999–2011) and, later, vice president of sales (2011–2012), a role that enabled him to develop relationships with clients in a variety of industries as well as improve B2B and B2C sales success for many brands.
In 2013, Dave was named vice president of CPG and, in 2014, vice president of CPG care. The latter role collaborates with the vice president of CPG sales — a new role at Alta Resources in 2014 — to completely oversee our consumer-packaged-goods vertical and to develop multichannel solutions that enable brands to efficiently grow and streamline their programs. In his role specifically, Dave focuses on combining Alta Resources’ horizontal focus on care with our vertical expertise in CPG to help clients meet their ever-changing needs.
Dave applies his on-the-job leadership to being the front man for a local band. In fact, his musical and vocal talents nearly put him on national TV, after finishing a close second in an original-song contest. In his free time, Dave enjoys microbrews, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, attending Milwaukee Brewers games, golfing and spending time with his family.
Lisa Schulze | Vice President, Human Resources | LinkedIn
Lisa's role sits at the crossroads of people and business, where she advocates a happy, healthy, safe workplace for the benefit of employees and employer alike. A veteran of human resources, she possesses more than 16 years of experience, which was jump-started with a bachelor's degree in organizational communication from the University of Wisconsin -- Stevens Point.
Shortly after graduation, Lisa became a personal banker at Associated Bank and quickly advanced into an employee-relations role there. Next, she secured a position as human resources generalist at McCain Snack Foods, which included recruitment, overall employee relations and assisting the company through its transition from Anchor Food Products. For the past 10-plus years, Lisa has headed Alta Resources' human resources, first as director and more recently as vice president.
In her current role, Lisa is responsible for everything, from employee relations and performance-management programs to the creation and execution of policies. She also heads our efforts for corporate-level recruiting, complete with employee onboarding, leadership orientation, retention and more. Part of her responsibilities are staying abreast of sensitive topics such as employee rights and legal policies, as well as collaborating on the creation and enforcement of internal guidelines pertaining to safety, employee behaviors and more. Lisa's leadership resulted in a Six Sigma Green Belt in August 2012 -- a project that helped improve the efficiency and scalability of the recruiting process.
Lisa is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, both at national and regional levels. When she's not busy making Alta Resources a great place to work, she spends times with her son and husband, perfecting her equestrian talents riding horses, reading and camping.
Pamela Weinhold | Vice President, CPG Sales | LinkedIn
Pam has amassed more than 26 years of proven experience in general management, strategic planning, marketing and new-business development, just to name a few. From 1985 to 2011, Pam held various strategic and leadership roles at Appleton Papers Inc. (now Appvion, Inc.), including vice president of marketing and general manager of global-thermal high-value business as well as vice president of global marketing of technical papers. Having served at the company’s Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, facility, Pam made the move to Wisconsin in 1992.
She joined Wisconsin-based Alta Resources in 2012 as a program director. In that role, she led various sales teams on behalf of global CPG clients and acted as a critical liaison between each client and Alta Resources. During that time, she also developed internal leaders and, by consistently producing results for our clients, helped us achieve our growth and profitability goals. In 2014, Pam was named vice president of CPG sales, our newest senior-leadership role that was created to fulfill a very important purpose. In her role, Pam works alongside the vice president of CPG care to strengthen our industry-specific expertise in the growing CPG space, as well as to hone our focus on CPG-specific sales and care.
An avid traveler, Pam hopes to soon add more stamps to her passport. When Pam isn’t leading her team, you can find her on the sidelines cheering on her three active boys. A Pennsylvania native, she has enjoyed the Wisconsin life, yet is privileged to interact with brands from all over the world. She also enjoys investments, horseback riding and day trips to the spa.
Pam has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Six Sigma Green Belt in 2005.
