Community
Clients continually express that our people are different, that they have the “it” factor. We’ve tried to compellingly capture the essence of those sentiments. Is it our small-town work ethic that we apply to big-time brands? Perhaps it’s because employees are empowered to interact on behalf of our clients, producing a sense of pride in every detail. Maybe it’s our collaborative, open-door environment fostering a dynamic company culture.
Whatever it is, we’re glad we have it because it makes our people unique. Something that continually sets us apart is our community involvement.
Community Participation
As a company, Alta Resources believes strongly in the word “community.” Our CEO leads various initiatives for World Vision, a global humanitarian organization that provides relief in impoverished countries. We even adopted “community” as one of our corporate Guiding Principles, evidenced in our annual donations, sponsorships, university partnerships and charitable giving.
From that focus on community relations grew an outreach program called AltaHOPE, a testament that we live, breathe and apply our principles every day and everywhere. AltaHOPE, which stands for “Helping Others Prevail Everywhere,” advocates community involvement to make a difference in the lives of those around us. And our people respond time after time, demonstrating high levels of participation and monetary generosity:
- Brea, CA – United Way
- Fort Myers, FL – Southeastern Guide Dogs, Children’s Network of Southwest Florida, United Way
- Neenah, WI – Special Olympics, The Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade, YouthGo, Riverview Gardens, United Way
- Pasig City, PH – Father Al’s Children Foundation, Philippine Red Cross
- Belize City, BZ – Belize Ministry of Health
Selflessly giving their time and talents, the people of Alta Resources embody a serious, genuine commitment to helping others. They hope to make a difference in the communities around our various locations, donating thousands of dollars and hours each year to help charities of all types, from family needs and hunger relief to disaster aid and animal rescue. In fact, our United Way campaign generates majority-employee participation and more than $300,000 annually. In 2021, we contributed over $392,000, bringing our total over the last seven years to more than $3.6 million. In addition to raising awareness through bake sales, ice-cream socials, cook-offs, and toy and book drives — even supporting the causes of our nonprofit clients — Alta employees show community involvement through participation with many corporate-sponsored activities:
- Local festivals and concerts
- Community blood drives
- Family and youth programs
- College outreach, mentoring and internships
- Partnerships with clients and local businesses
- Fundraisers and volunteerism at the local nonprofit organizations
